Resources are limited, even in the construction sector. Therefore, not only deliberate use of raw materials in the production process is of great importance, but also checking those products, that are no longer required, for a possible reuse or appropriate recycling.

BSW has now given this endeavor a fixed framework for its products with its “reuse+recycle” program.

The product lines that are certified according to the US “Cradle to Cradle” standard – this includes all project hinges and frame receivers, lift-off hinges series 807 and the high-performance sliding bearing hinges 804 and 818 – can easily be returned to BSW after use. There they are checked for further usability, dismantled and professionally recycled. The reuse and recycling cycle is closed.

As an additional incentive, the first 200 customers sending back not longer needed BSW- products will receive an original Solingen kitchen knife (“Zöppken”) by Heiso®, made of stainless steel with a wooden handle.

Heiso® offers a free lifetime sharpening service for its knives, just sustainability at all levels.

The program goes hand in hand with a large number of sustainability projects at BSW. In addition to the “Cradle to Cradle” certification, the company promotes climate-friendly mobility through a job e-bike program and the decision to only add BEV or PHEV cars to the company fleet.

A real milestone on the way to becoming a climate-neutral company is the new administration and production building currently under construction, which meets the latest energy requirements.
